AMARILLO, TX - 2010 - OASIS RV RESORT, #37
RATING: 1 – Yuck,... 2 – Poor,... 3 – Fair,... 4 – Good,... 5 - Excellent
Dates: March 15 – 18, 2010 (3 nights at $20 a night)
Overall Rating: 4 Would you stay here again: YesQuality of Facilities; Layout and Visual Appeal: 4
This is an excellent RV park. It is very large with 192 sites (mostly pull-thru). All roads and sites are paved. All sites are very spacious with room for the largest of big rigs with room left over for a patio area and parking space for a few cars. Lots of space between sites. The landscaped areas between sites have gravel and pampas grass. There is no green or trees. But hey, this is the desert. The park is nicely laid out and completely level.Location: 4
Located out of town in open space. It was close to the Zoo and other areas we wanted to visit. Near highway with easy access.
Noise/Quiet: 3
There were lots of highway noise, but not enough to wear earplugs. The park was almost empty and we didn’t see any kids. So it was very quiet and peaceful.Staff: 5
Staff is very friendly, personable and accommodating. The owner is on site (walks around wearing overalls and is always working on the park). He is very friendly. Told him about the bad WiFi connection and he looked into it right away. In fact it improved for the rest of the day.
Amenities: 3
Full hook-ups, Cable TV (40 channels) but no local channels (no local news and I missed seeing LOST), free WiFi (but could not get any connection, strong signal, but just no connection). Had to walk to office and sit at their computer table with the WiFi gizmo sitting right there. Even then connection was very slow.
Recreation: 4
There is a large clubhouse with pool and spa. There is another building at the entrance of the park that has a small barbeque restaurant.
Laundry Room: n/a Did not use and did not check out.
Comfort Station: 4
The bathrooms were excellent! Individual rooms with a full bathroom; shower, toilet, sink. Very private, very clean with lots of hot water and good pressure. There were 3 of these buildings with about 6 of these private rooms in each building.
Assigned RV Site: 5
We had a great site. We were at the end of a row so we had no neighbors on one side. The other side was empty as well except for one night. Other sites nearby were also empty so we had a lot of privacy. Our site was very long and very spacious.
