Quality of Facilities, Layout and Visual Appeal: 2
This is a pretty bad RV park. It is small with about 80 sites. But it is better then other RV parks closer to Jackson Hole that was available. The park was full and we were lucky to get a reservation. The Snake River runs alongside the park. In fact this RV park’s main business is river rafting on this river. The RV park is just an extra business and it looks it. No attention is give to the RV park side of the business. The property is full of rafting stuff and people who are doing the trips are wondering around, some stay at the RV park and cabins. This is just not a comfortable or relaxing place; it is too busy with people and activity.
The sites are short and too close together, so we were are on top of each other. There are no clear site boundaries, so some trailers are intruding into their neighbor’s site. Most of the sites are back-ins so you feel even more crowded. There are no big rigs here (the sites are not big enough from them). But it is still too crowded despite the smaller trailers. The interior roads are dirt and the sites are dirt and grass with a picnic table and fire ring and grill. I can’t imagine how smoky it would be if everyone used their fire rings. The rain is keeping everyone inside. Right now it is all very muddy. The layout is okay with even rows, but everything is crowded together. There is also a lot of junk laying around and piled up against the buildings. There is no landscaping. But there are great views of the mountains. There are lots of trees, but they are mostly on the edges of the park and not at the sites, so it’s not very shady. There are tent sites and cabins.

It is about 14 miles outside of Jackson Hole, and about 30 miles from the Grand Teton National Park. It is too far from the attractions we want to visit, but as bad as this place is, it is better than the other places we looked at online. The better places were full. This park is along side of Snake River and is a good location for white water rafting.
Noise/Quiet: 3
No highway noise, or train or planes. We are out in the woods and it is pretty quiet. Except for the neighbors. Because the trailers are so close together, you can hear trailer noises, like the water heaters, air conditioners, etc.
Staff: 3
KOA employees. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were very busy when we checked in, but they took their time with us and we didn’t feel ignored or rushed.
Amenities: 2
Only water and electric was available, no TV at all (not even with the antanne). Free WiFi with easy logon and the signal is strong and the connection is okay.
Recreation: 2
No playground or pool. Nothing for the kids, but of course there is the river and rafting and hiking at nearby Grand Teton NP.
Laundry Room: 3
The laundry room is in the same building as the workshop. It’s a pretty junky building. But the laundry room is spacious and fairly nice with 4 washers ($??), and 4 dryers ($??). Machines are clean and okay. There is a bench and folding table and a book shelf for book exchange.
Comfort Station: 2
There are two comfort stations. The one near our site is real small with two toilet stalls, and two showers. Did not use these because they were not very private (stall & dressing room with shower curtain that is flimsy. The other comfort station is behind the office where all the rafting stuff is. So there is always a crowd of rafters blocking the place and inside changing into their wet suits . This place also has only two toilets and two showers. But the showers in this comfort station are private and spacious with lots of hot water and pressure.
Assigned RV Site: 3
We are at the end of the row close to the Snake River and across from the KOA Kabins. We have an open view on one side, but a view of several trailer butts on the other side. Our site is back in, so we have a trailer behind us. We are lucky though, we have enough room to put our awning out. The neighbor behind us and next door has a tree right next to his trailer and cannot put his awning out. And the trailer next to us barely has room for his picnic table. And it isn’t even a trailer, it’s a truck with a cab over. In fact all our neighbors are small trailers. I can’t even imagine big rigs fitting into these sites. And the sites are really muddy with the rain. It’s awful. Most of the neighbors were overnighters. They would clear out in the morning and by evening we were full again with new neighbors.

Quality of Facilities; Layout and Visual Appeal: 3
This is a fairly nice RV park. It is out in the open next to the main road into town and the Interstate. It is a nice layout with even rows. The sites are spacious with grass (that really needs mowing) on both sides. There are short trees on the sites, but no shade. There is a view of the brown hills and traffic on the highways. There are premium sites that have cement pad for the picnic table and shelter around the table.
Location: 3
We are located outside of the city next to Interstate 80. We are away from the city hustle (although this is a small town, not a city) and far from highway 287, the road we take to our next destination.
Noise/Quiet: 2
We are alongside the interstate that is quite noisy, and next to a main road leading into Rawlins. We have busy roads on two sides of the RV park. The interstate is uphill so we hear the big rigs and the cars accelerating, making an awful noise. Sometimes the acceleration drowns out the TV. It is a bit quieter at night. Did not have to wear my earplugs. There is also a train nearby. The train ran all day, but I could not hear it at night. They did blow the horns, but it was not too disturbing.
Staff: 3 KOA staff that are friendly, but nothing special.
Amenities: 3
Full hook-ups with cable TV (40+ channels that come in real clear). There is free WiFi with a password logon and a strong signal, but a bad connection that is very weak. Sometimes I can get on the blog and load pictures, other times there is not enough signal.
Recreation: 2
No organized activities and not a lot of fun stuff you usually see at KOA’s. There is a playground and a nice pool, a lone basketball hoop and an area with horseshoes.
Laundry Room: 3 Medium size room with 3 washers ($1.75), 3 dryers (.25). Machines were clean, but older. Long folding table with chairs. A nice room, but nothing special.
Comfort Station: 3
The toilets are in a separate room. The shower stalls are in private, individual rooms. These rooms are quite small with a typical vinyl stall with shower curtain and small shelves for shampoo, etc. The dressing area has small stool and a few hooks (not enough).
Assigned RV Site #10: 3
Even though you can hear the Interstate everywhere in the park, it would have been nicer if we were more in the center and back of the park, away from the roads. We were given a site in the furthest corner of the park next to the road going into Rawlins and alongside of the Interstate. Our site had a lot of space. But no trees and out in the open. We are about 6,000 feet above sea level, so it is not very hot here and shade is not really needed. But the sun is bright and it is very windy. We did not put up our awning. This RV park and area is not near any attractions so it is mostly an overnight stop. The park got full in the evening then emptied out in the morning. We had different neighbors both nights. We did not meet or greet anyone in the park, they all just stayed in their trailers.
